A thief steals the King's most precious treasure, but he gets more than he bargained for, in this lively retelling of a classic Korean tale.

I have heard some stories about "why the sea is salty" but I don't know this story. It was interesting. I want the millstones too. However, theft is bad. If we did bad things, they would come back to ourselves. This story says that. By the way, I want to taste sweet sea.
Long ago, the sea wasn't salty like it is today. Once, it tasted sweet.
I wonder why the sea was sweet.

love Disney

I love Disney. Disney's characters, movies, resort, music, I like all of them. My favorite character is, of course, Mickey Mouse! I have taken pictures with him at Tokyo Disney land, Disney SEA and Disneyland in C.A. He was so cute, however, I have a kind of shocking story about Mickey Mouse. When I went to Disney land in L.A. I was kissed on my cheek by him and then, I heard his voice "Mmmmma!" Oh my gosh! I never wanted to hear it because I never knew that someone wore the Mickey. I still love him, though. I have ever watched most of Disney's movies. I can't choose the best one. I like them.

Stories of Pirates

Stories of Pirates

USBORNE YOUNG READING

Russell Punter

Illustrated by Christyan Fox

978079451542-3

There were 3 different stories. The pesky parrot, Captain Spike and The Masked Pirate. All of them were interesting but I like The Masked Pirate the best of these three. The hero's name was Sam Sardine. He had a longing for a sailor. He grew up to be a cabin boy. He was always made to do chores, so he felt board. Captain Winkle decided to put him to the test to see if he was fit for a proper sailor's job. However, he made repeated mistakes. One day, he saw a pirate who covered his face with a mask stole Captain Winkle's treasure.

I like the story from that part. I think Sam was not only clever but also courageous! How lucky he found the pirate and hunted him down. Captain Winkle catched the pirate, though.

The pesky parrot was funny. Charlie could get money at the end but I don't want the parrot.

Captain Spike was a good story. What a tender, great-inner, bravely girl she was.

wisdom teeth

Yesterday, I had 3 classes. I really enjoyed chatting with my friends. They make me happy!

Well, I went to a dentist to have my right-side wisdom teeth pulled out after school. The last time: the opposite side, the treatment had taken around 90 minutes, however, it took only 30 minutes this time.

Today I went there again and had the wound disinfected. There was no problem but I still taste bloody in my mouth. I know it cannot be avoided.
I ate ice cream after that. From today to May 5th, double is 31 percent off at 31!!
If you didn't know that, you should go!!!!!!!

Not do sagging-pants in formal scenes

People should not do sagging-pants in formal scenes. In The Vancouver Winter Olympic, Mao Asada became the center of public attention as a candidate for a gold medal but Kazuhiro Kokubo was also watched with a bad impression: he wore low-hanging Japan’s official Olympic uniform by all over Japan. I don’t oppose sagging pants but I think he should not do that while he wore official uniform. I have two reasons.
First, the Olympic is official athletic meet. Players who take part in it are representatives of their countries. Also, Kazuhiro Kokubo is a snowboarder, so he has hip-hop cultures. Most of snowboarders do sagging-pants. It is certain that they are one of their cultures but they should wear clothes all people can accept in formal scenes such as the Olympic because a huge number of people pay attention to them.
Second, sagging-pants are untidy. Legs look short and underpants are completely exposed. Nobody wants to see them. If there was someone who did sagging-pants, people might feel uncomfortable. It is OK that people who have hip-hop cultures do sagging-pants in their world, but in formal scenes, they should be tightly in order to let people feel comfortable.

Fruits and Vegetables

Basically, I like all kinds of fruits and vegetables except pears and shiitake mushrooms. If I give my favorites, those are apples and pumpkins. Both of them have so many recipes. I especially like apple pies and pumpkin puddings. Of course, I also like a simple way of eating: eating raw apples. I didn't like any vegetables when I was a child but I liked only pumpkins. I don't know why but I probably think they taste sweet.

King Midas and the Gold

King Midas and the Gold

King Midas was very rich. He was kind too.
King Midas was so kind! I really liked this story. He helped an old man. He could get much gold but he washed away his golden touch for people. This book said that he was a real king. I wish all kings around the world were kind as him.

Baba Yaga The Flying WItch

Baba Yaga The Flying Witch
Retold by Susanna Davidson
Illustrated by Sara Rojo
A little girl called Tasha had a magic doll which her mother had given it before she died. One day, her stepmother asked her to go to Baba Yaga's hut to get a needle and a thread. However, Baba Yaga was a man-eater witch!! Tasha remembered her mother had told her that if she was in trouble, the tiny doll would help her. She gave her tiny doll a piece of bread and water. Just then, the tiny doll began to speak.
Baba Yaga was fearful and weird. She eats children!? Wow. Brrr. Thanks to the little doll, Tasha finally could went back her home but If I was in her situation, I might be eaten by Baba Yaga.
Baba Yaga had never given foods to her dog and cat for a long time, so she was betrayed by them. She invited her own misfortunes. By the way, I wonder why Tasha's stepmother made Tasha to go to Baba Yaga's hut. Well, I think she wanted to treat her as a nuisance. All of stepmother in fairy tales are mean, aren't they?

Apr. 14th

Yesterday was my dad's and Megumu's birthday. Happy birthday my dears!!

It's kind of cold these days. I have no classes on Wednesday, so I stayed at home today. I woke up around 7:30 because I heard sounds my sisters and brother were ready to go to schools but I wanted to lie in my bed, so I didn’t get up until my dad woke me up. After I had brunch, I did homework of linguistic and Honors English Seminar. I didn’t finish it yet, though.

Oh, hey, guess what. Are you guys ready to take a test at a reading class? I thought I would read newspapers, then, there were no ones!!! OMG!!!! Newspapers were already disposed. I should have got up early. I have the test tomorrow!! I read items of newspapers almost everyday but I don’t have a confidence if I remember contents of those items or not. OK. I’ll check news show or something later.

The Magic Porridge Pot

The Magic Porridge Pot

Retold by Rosie Dickins

(Based on the story by The Brothers Grimm)

Illustrated by Mike and Carl Gordon
I read this picture book today. A girl whose name is Hannah was always hungry. One day, she met an old woman who had an empty pot with her. The pot actually was a magic pot!! Hannah was given it from the old woman. Since then, she could begin to have porridge enough each day. However, a greedy boy saw that. And then…
I didn’t know this story. It made me feel like sort of smiling. I think it gives a lesson: if you were greedily trying to get something, you would pay for it.
There are some similar stories I have ever read. Well, a story about a greedy dog which drops meat down river is.

about yesterday

Hi, this is my first contribution to this blog.
Well, yesterday, I went to a beauty salon to discuss a hairstyle for a coming-of-age celebration in the morning. A beautician who discussed with me told me that a big red hair ornament will match the kimono I chose, so I looked for stuff. This picture is what I bought. It’s kind of gorgeous, don’t you think? It, however, cost only 590 yen!! How awesome!! My prior photography will be done on May 1st. Oh, I’m really looking forward to it. Why? Yes, It will be my first time to put kimono on. (I’ve done that when I was 3 for shichigosan but I don’t remember that memory X( )
From 12:30, I went to a welcome party which was held at the dorm for international students. There were lots of foods. Gosh! I couldn’t eat so much. I wasn’t hungry at that time because I had breakfast late. I made friends with Koreans. They speak Japanese well!! We talked a lot, that was fun time, I really enjoyed.

By the way, do you know Justin Bieber, a singer? He is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute!!!!!!! His voice is sooooooooooooooooo lovely. I want him to be my younger brother. lol If you don't know him or his songs, you better to listen to.
