The Courtesy to women is not gender discrimination
In 1999, Basic Act for Gender-Equal Society was established, and since then, women have been empowered through work like men work. Probably women are tougher than before Basic Act for Gender-Equal Society was established. In Japan, we have special services for ladies such as Lady’s Day women can see a premier movie for 1000 yen at a movie theater, the cars of trains for women only. Some people consider courtesy to women is gender discrimination but it is not gender discrimination.
Women are getting tough at the social level. However, they also tend to be the victims of sexual crimes. Women should be protected against the tragedies. These are some game centers, especially the purikura section, which are for only women because of camera voyeurism in Kumamoto. Such a game center is located in all parts of Japan.
Most of the users of entertainment facilities on weekdays are women. Some people say that is a stereotype, “male work”, but in fact, women much care about prices of stuffs than men and they tend to try to make a good purchase. Also, they tend to go somewhere with their friends. As setting up Lady’s Day, the side of sponsors’ side, such a movie theater, can get more customers and can expect making much money. That makes a social sense. That’s why Lady’s Day is not gender discrimination.
